Decay is a series I created by immersing Instax photographs in water, where they sat for three years, the water gradually creeping inwards from the edges and carving intricate pathways through the images. These images are the most removed from their original source material, but elements of landscape elements remain. They also make a physical transformation, moving from tiny analog images to large scale prints at 38x60 inches. I see them as mercurial and yet highly tactile; juxtapositions of the irregular flaws of the decay process with the natural patterns of the underlying landscape forms.
