Natural Geometries by Michael Sebastian

Issue 7

After years of working nearly exclusively in black and white, I discovered the ease with which one can process C-41 color film in a Jobo processor. This minor technical revelation --- timely as professional labs become ever more rare --- cause me to reconsider how color might stand alongside empty space, form, line, and tone as a compositional element in my work. I find myself drawn to these geometries as I see them everywhere in the modern landscape, so heavily marked by the hand of man.
