haunting
adjective
Definition of haunting

: having qualities (such as sadness or beauty) that linger in the memory : not easily forgotten

Extraordinary experiences uses photography as conduit for emotional interpretation of the reality during a time of turmoil.

There are a set of psychological phenomena that can happen to the bereaved, loosely named Extraordinary Experiences. One of them is a visual apparition of or "seeing" the loved one. These images explore the idea of being haunted by the past, of a reckoning with history and of the eternity of the natural world.

Created in the Australian summer, the images depict a dark exploration of the landscape interspersed with motifs of animals both dead and alive and a portrait of the artist and her father. The images interplay reality with the camera’s is capability to “see” and photography’s ability to make eternal what is fleeting.
